Colorado leaves Private Security licensure up to the individual cities to determine their regulations and requirements. We help ensure that you get trained to the highest standards, so that way you can apply for your license no matter what city you need to work in.
Unarmed Security Officer
Bringing resources and experience from law enforcement and corrections, we focus on instructing officers in the specialized “soft skills” necessary for success in the private security industry. Our Unarmed Security Officer course is a 16-hour course that covers topics to include Duties of a Security Officer, Ethical Considerations, Anti-Bias & Cultural Sensitivity, Interactions with Law Enforcement, Colorado Revised Statutes, Use of Force Considerations, De-Escalation Techniques and Emergency Medical Procedures. Officers must successfully complete a written exam prior to completion of this course to receive certification. This course meets the minimum security training requirement for Unarmed Security in all Colorado cities, except Greeley (an additional 8-hour module is offered for Greeley certification).
COURSE COST: $330* per student
(Greeley certification cost is $400 per student)
Duty Handgun
We train Security Officers to a minimum basic standard which promotes the safe and ethical usage and handle of firearms in a professional capacity. Whether you are an experienced shooter or brand new to the industry, we will prepare you for your role. This course is a 16-hour course wherein students will learn the fundamentals of marksmanship, firing positions, holster and ammunition requirements, situational awareness mindset and low-light considerations as they apply to firearms use in the line of duty. Officers must successfully complete a written exam, and a live-fire range qualification for completion of this course to receive certification. This course meets the minimum requirement for Armed Security in Colorado, as well as the minimum requirement for obtaining a Colorado Concealed Weapon permit.
COURSE COST: $380 per student
Less-Lethal Tool & Restraints
Officers have the opportunity to receive instruction and practical application on the usage and employment of Non-Lethal equipment such as TASER CEW’s, chemical deterrents and mechanical restraints. We have one of only four TASER Certified Civilian Instructors in the State of Colorado, as well as boast a training cadre made up entirely of former and active law enforcement and corrections officers with decades of experience using Conducted Electrical Weapons, chemical deterrents and handcuffs on dangerous and combative subjects in real-world situations.
