Most Armor Ballistic Shields deployed and in use among United States Law Enforcement Agencies are not rated to provide any protection against rifle fire.

And those departments that did plan for better protection, paid three times more for this higher level of protection. However, these high-level Polyethylene Level lll Rifle Rated Shields do not provide protection against common street threats such as 5.56mm and 7.62x39mm calibers. These are known to penetrate Polyethylene Level lll armor.

Description

Unlike Polyethylene which does not effectively stop 5.56mm rounds or mild core AK rounds, this Mini Shield™ steel will stop multiple Special Threat rated fast rounds.

The shield is less than 0.25” in thickness and encapsulated in a Polyurea coating ensuring long-term durable use.

The RTS Tactical Mini Shield™ will not crack if dropped or deform from long exposure to heat.

The RTS Mini Shield™ is equipped with a heavy-duty handle and a quick-release strapping system. This enhances mobility while using the Mini Shield™.

In keeping with RTS’s attention to detail and focus on safety, the Mini Shield™ is fitted with an oversize Trauma Pad system designed to absorb the impact of incoming rounds.
